A neat addition to the website, but i think its a little bit late, granted the mini only came out less than a year ago, but that stuff has been out there for a while.

The only applications that might use this are military applications. Which are most likely classified applications. But in short, no, a normal application wouldn't use it. ;)

Well you can join whenever. Starting later might be a good idea actually. I encourage the current testers to occasionally start over to find bugs but it seems like they're getting fed up with the start! Yea. thats cool that, give us a shout when your free :)

I simply use the process killer in SBSettings to kill the offending app, which takes away it's banner ad also. Is this whole wallpaper ads thing part of the iAds discussion? 'keep apps free' and all that?

While the 17 inch has enough room for such a beast, unless Apple have come up with new ways to cool their machines, and with their G5 experiments, they should have plenty ready, they won't be able to use something more interesting.
It would be nice to see a really amazing, slick machine with really high end portable graphics hardware but Apple will be conservative.

Definitely simplify it, too many concepts competing for attention.
Try designing around one main concept, use fewer fonts and font sizes.
Do not clutter it up with all the leaves and doodads... it just makes it look too busy and therefore unappealing.
Simple simple simple, especially as you are just starting out. Clarify your most important concept, sketch it out with a pencil, rework it until it feels right. Also look on the net at ads that appeal to you, what did they do that works for you, how can you incorporate those layout/concept ideas into your own work to make it better? Take all that and your sketches work them together and then make it digital and come back to us, I'll bet dollars to donuts it'll be a lot nicer and more coherent and cohesive, just keep at it:).
BTW, the leaves make me think I can recycle my compost/tree leaves there as well, if this is for electronics, I think you can leave them out (no pun intended)

the computer does come with a working battery that holds 46 min. of charge as well, as an extra battary cover, a phone cord, and ethernet cord, the power adapter, an external mouse., and if I can find it, a copy of windows ME will also be included. This computer has been very well taken care of by me, but I switched to mac, so I don't need this anymore :)

Like to see a 3TB , Thunderbolt, user serviceable unit.
For me ( a casual user) 1TB is more then enough for my music and documents, don't really see the reason to update.

I recently saw a pc with OSX running on it. And that's neat. I'm mainly a Windows user but I've remained respectful to Apple hardware but I can't stand OSX. It's stable and it's easy to use but I much rather prefer the unrestricted control a knowledgeable user can have over Windows. Thus leads me to my question;
Has anyone gotten or heard of anyone getting Windows to run on a Mac without an excruciatingly slow emulator? Is there any chance of this happening in the future?

Sorry to yell, but I built macthemesforums.net (http://macthemesforums.net) with phpbb and we all have been regretting it since about 3 months after the site launched. Security holes were the first major issue that we encountered... and now we have incredibly slow loading times and it is very hard to upgrade the software since we have made so many hacks to the default installation.
If you want lightweight and super fast, try PunBB (http://punbb.org).
If you want a powerful board with good support, use vBulleting or Invision Powerboard.

Nothing stops them from trading with you as a free-lancer… and as far as HMRC is concerned as long as you pay your taxes…

Wow that's amazing. How much did it cost roughly and how long did it take you to collect so many?
I started collecting DVDs in 2001/2002 (can't really tell exactly) and bought my last one in 2009. Before that I bought laserdiscs (still have a nice collection of those, too). Here in Germany it was quite difficult to get movies without dubbed sound (Germans dub everything) and I absolutely hate not hearing the original actor's voice. We're talking pre-internet era here, early to mid nineties. So I went for (expensively) imported LDs. When DVDs were introduced it was a dream come true. Next to the German dubbing almost every DVD contained the original sound and was much cheaper compared to an LD, plus the picture quality was way better. I sometimes still watch an LD, though, because the analog audiotracks rule. ;)
Summing it up: Nine years, lots of cash, no regrets. Now I'm all digital with a Mac mini and 6TB connected to my flatscreen. It's really comfortable.
