Replacement EAD means replacing lost EAD, and only 1-year EAD will be issued. Most people apply for EAD renewal, which is OK for 2-year EAD.

Hello IV Freinds,
I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.
I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.
Good luck to all IV members who are still awaiting for good day to come.

Your Employer is wrong. USCIS won't send I-94 in separate mail.
As per my knowledge, One should not start working unless there is I-94 attached to I-797 Approval Notice.
Your wife need to go out of the US and get it stamped before start working.
At POE, the Immigration Officer will issue the new I-94 with valid H1-B Status.
Again I am not an attorney...
Please talk to attorney for further clarifications.

We must get a big crowd and from what I understood while interacting with the community is that many just forgeet where they have come from, thee freedomm they get here have made them forget the facts that there are times when we must all stand up and support each other.
I do not have any ill feelings about anyone - but my attempt was just to push those who are sitting on the fence and just taking things for granted.
Remember - if you don't care for your farmers - after a while - you won't have food.
Life is not all about being lethargic and not caring for things that matter
When things go bad it is we who have to correct them - we must make sure they never happen to our children
Our sole aim in life is to strive towards a better world for our children and not a sinful world - we cannot afford to make this world a graveyard for our children.
Aman Kapoor has given all of us this wonderful platform to stand up for oursleves. Just imagine what would haappen to the community when July 2nd happened and IV was not there? Everyone would be cribbing and talking about lawsuits and the sotry will go on
Peace and unity have helped in the past to bring about meaningful changes and will always continue to be so.
All we have to do is to unite and stand up for oursleves.
So, lets all go to DC and support IV for taking up this wonderful task

I am going thru the same thing...To answer your question, the travel agent told me that if my passport stamp had expired, I would need a transit visa for all European airports. I would not need a transit visa if I take a direct flight to middle-eastern airports (like Kuwait City, Dubai etc)..The transit visa might take a couple of weeks via mail.....
Typical travel agent replies are: "if you have valid visa stamped, then no need for transit visa".

I had applied for my I-485 in the July 2007 fiasco and i have my EAD and AP renewed every 2 /1 years. My I-140 is approved in Mar 2008.
Now i got a full time opportunity with a company and i want to know which option is best for me. I have my H1 visa valid till 2011 November and i am now in 5th year of my H1.
Shall i use H1 transfer to move to new company which offered me full time job or use EAD?
Which is safer for me? And do i need to apply AC21 or is it optional? Most of my friends are saying to not to apply for AC21.
If i use EAD and if my I-485 has any issues, what will be my status?

All the metros are crowded in India. Bangalore & Pune have more IT opportunities and have good schools.

Since i had to spend US $ 70 on passportport photos during july 2007 filing, i wrote my own app to format passport photos. some of my my friends and i used it for filing AP the last couple years. i can email it to any of you if you want it. just PM me.

Do not worry about it. As long as you keep your job, you are fine. I've been thru the same situation, did not do anything special and got my GC.

Using AP does not necessarily mean that one is using the EAD. It is just a document that allows you to travel when needed.
Elaine you can correct if I am wrong ? I had a question though... say the H1-B is valid for more than 1 year but if AP is used the I-94 given would be of only 1 year, should we then extend the I-94 or is our H1-B valid till the duration it is approved for..

The meeting was very well organized. Q&A session with Attorney Prashanti Reddy was very useful. Here are my suggestions:
a) We can have these conferences every two months or whenever core thinks so.
b) I think we should stick to immigration.
c) Earlier 'Invite a friend/Add a member' campaigns were very successful as compared to flyer/poster campaign.
Thanks for coming with your wife - this is the third meet and you both came for all the meets.
Excellent input - we must do more of these. We are expanding now and getting support so I think we are in a position to do more stuff.
Flyers and posters also play a crucial role as a first step to a lot of people.

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.
