I am really excited to hear finally we got $60K to continue our approach to urge immigration reform. That is really great! And I already asked my employer to send letter to NYS Senator Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton to support comprehensive immigration reform. We invited them to talk with us at their convenient time. Guys, keep hard work. That's our life and we must succeed in this immigration reform.

That's a bit too sensational thread title for something that happened in 2006.
That too he was trying to connect to the questioner and made a minor gaffe (which he is famous for). His office later said he admired the growing Indian-American community in the state of Delaware and was talking about how new families were benefiting the local economy by taking over small businesses.
As I drive thru Delaware I do noticed the number of DunkinDonuts owned/operated by Indian Americans - which is quite good and I actually felt proud of that - its not just cool high-tech companies that help a state's economy - it includes everything, and a DunkinDonut owner is an entrepreneur as well.

Assuming that he is not struck in the name check which is very likely if one has a very common first name or last name
True, this affects everyone really, but was just saying from what I have seen of my ROW friends. Getting green cards within 1-2 years while the bulk of us wait for 5-6+

I am thinking of starting my own company doing work similar to what I am employed for? Can I quit my job and start my own firm on EAD. I will be the sole proprietor and employee and the business would essentially operate as a startup for the foreseeable future. Will this be ok during I-485 adjudication? or do i need a regular job?
Atish.
You need your job just in case of an RFE. You can work on EAD on the side.

This is a vaccine for a disease that is not communicable. Look at all the other things they ask you to check- TB, HIV etc.
Suddenly USCIS is so concerned about our health, they need us to take vaccines for some almost experimental drug to avoid one type of cancer.
What next? We are mandated 30 minutes aerobic exercise a day?

Thanks for sharing this news. Here is the link (http://www.immigration-information.com/forums/showthread.php?p=25832).
This news is very encouraging and thanks to Ron Gotcher for publishing it on his web site. Guys, please continue sending the letters, if you have not done it so far.
We are working on 2nd phase of our campaign.
pd_recapturing, this is encouraging indeed. People should not fear using EAD, specifically in this economy EAD gives you much better chance to survive than an H1B.
Regarding campaign, please share some updates, news with IV community.

I have 3 years degree (15 year education). I am not sure if I can file on EB2.
You have filed on EB3 & planning to file on EB2; could you please share the logic for this & why are you waiting end of 2008, please share the reason, so if needed I can also plan something like you.
Thanks,
Sanjeev
No, you can not. As one must have a single degree that is the "foreign equivalent degree" to a United States baccalaureate degree
Please refer to similar case

If you work for a consulting firm requiring you to work for clients at various locations your labor application should have stated as various locations within US instead of one location. Since your labor was filed in 2002 i assume it was using old labor process (State labor than Regional thru BEC), the rules for that labor filing state that Company should file the state labor in the state where it is headquartered if employee is supposed to working at various locations. My labor was filed that way and application stated location as various within US. If you had that than it should not be an issue.
On March 12 2009 I got an query on my I-485.
Requesting discrepancy in the labor applied on Nov'7 2002 and present working place.
My company(abc ltd) applied labor on Nov'07 2002 while I was working at the clients(xyz) place in Los Angeles.
I got my I-140 approved on Feb'15 2006, while I was with the same client(xyz) at that time.
On Dec'04 2006 I moved to Detroit, started working with different client.
RFE goes like this.
The Documentation submitted with your application and/or a review of service records indicate that you no longer reside in the same state or geographical location as the underlying form i-140 immigration petitioner and /or job location specified by your intended permanent employer.
There fore submit a currently dated letter from your original form I-140 employer which which address this discrepancy.
I am still working with the same employer who filed my labor certification.
Any gurus who can suggest me on the query would be greatly appreciated.

If the I-140 has been approved, you are entitled to use the PD on any subsequent I-140 unless it is revoked based on fraud or misrepresentation.
The best document to have is a copy of the I-140 approval notice. You are legally entitled to have a copy of this document, and can obtain it by making a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to USCIS using Form G-639. USCIS provides detailed instructions at: USCIS - Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIA) (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextchannel=34139c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a 1RCRD&vgnextoid=34139c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD )
In my experience, it can take anywhere from 2 months to 18 months for USCIS to act on a FOIA request and provide copies.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your advice.
Form g-639 has 3 request types
1)Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
2)Privacy Act (PA)
3)Amendment of Record (PA only)
Which option I should choose (I guess (1) but want to confirm)?
Also do I need to answer question 6 and send a copy of my identity along with g-639?

The Republican targets for compromise are the usual suspects Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, George LeMieux of Florida, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Dick Lugar of Indiana all of whom have expressed willingness to negotiate on immigration. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is planning to meet with several of these GOP senators this week to see whether theres hope for a bipartisan immigration bill.
Democrats have no specific timetable for immigration, but the next recess a natural deadline for legislation begins May 28.

You would need afidavits from your parents and a close relative. IF you dont have a birth certificate with your name, registered on the day you were born and the certificate is dated close to your dob then you WILL need afidavits.
It very simple, just send the format by mail to your parents and ask them to buy stamp papers and get it typed and then sign in front of notory and notory will attest and sign. Then ask them to scan it and send it to you. You just take a print out and give it to your lawyer including your birth certificate you took in 2005.
Good Luck!
You need 2 affidavits from 2 close relatives(one from each) who are atleast 10 years older than you

Ok, true. But I guess I'm still hung up on the "suggestion" (not rule, I suppose) to have more space in the direction the subject is heading or looking than to the rear of him/her/it - especially also not to center the subject. So, I'd still crop it the same, but I should have indicated better what I was thinking (not a tight crop, which is probably what it sounded like I meant).
All, I really appreciate your help and suggestions. I plan to submit both 'Solitary' and 'Father and Son' (I can submit up to 3 photos).
jliechty, is this what you were thinking:

Per the updated bulletin. Can we apply or not apply 485.
Also, how come they didn't know on May 15th when the moved the dates to 2003..
All of us care is EAD/AP, they can approve the GC when the visa's become available.. why cannot they just take 485s and start processing and then keep it a side until visas are available.
